Rooted in the teachings of Jesus, our vision and values are woven through all that we do at Kennington CE Academy. Following His example, everyone in our school community is loved and supported as part of an inclusive, joyful and aspirational community. We value everyone as a unique individual and encourage each other to nurture our talents, become compassionate citizens and develop a life-long love of learning.

Our Vision

We are an inclusive community where Christian values empower us. With God's guidance, we work with pride and passion to create life-long learners who fulfil their potential. If we work together, we can be the very best that we can be; achieving, celebrating and succeeding whilst having fun.

The Parable of the Talents

The Parable of the Talents underpins our vision and values and encourages us all to use the talents that we have been given to fulfil our potential.

“For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants[a] and entrusted to them his property.  To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away.

He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more.  So also he who had the two talents made two talents more. But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master's money.

Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them. And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here, I have made five talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’

And he also who had the two talents came forward, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me two talents; here, I have made two talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’

Our Values

British Values at Kennington CE Academy

At Kennington CE Academy we uphold and teach pupils about British Values which are defined as:

Democracy
Rule of law
Individual liberty
Mutual respect
Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs

These values are taught through Personal, Social, Health and Emotional (PSHE) and Religious Education (RE). We also teach British Values through planning and delivering a broad and balanced curriculum.

The school takes opportunities to actively promote British Values through daily Collective Worship and whole school systems and structures such as electing and running a successful School Council.

We also actively promote British values through ensuring that our curriculum planning and delivery includes real opportunities for exploring these values.
